HUMAN TERRAIN
by Christopher Willis
Genre: Military | Drama
Logline: Seeking revenge for the 9/11 death of his mother, a newly minted Lieutenant must reconcile with his estranged father and the unorthodox methods of the counter-insurgency team he commands.
Bio: Christopher Willis lives in Narragansett, Rhode Island, next to the Atlantic Ocean. He has been a fan of war movies since the 1960s. His favorite is “Apocalypse Now,” probably because it depicts his generation’s war. Other favorites include “The Battle of the Bulge,” “Saving Private Ryan,” and “The Hurt Locker.”
Chris has written eight features, as many shorts, and one television pilot. While nothing has been produced, his scripts have done well in various screenwriting competitions. His war dramas focus on unique units, such as combat anthropologists or camouflage specialists. Authenticity is always critical. As a practicing psychologist he can’t help but write characters that are multidimensional and struggling with some type of psychological problem. Christopher’s latest project is a television pilot called “Lobster Gangs.” It is a limited series about a feud between two families of lobstermen off the coast of Maine. Christopher is a USAF veteran.
