The Adapted Story Showcase recognizes scripts, novelizations, and stage plays in any genre that feature an adapted story.

An adapted story is a story based on previously written material, such as:

  • A script based on a previously written book, a short story, a magazine article, a video game, or a stage play.
  • A stage play based on a previously written book or a movie script.
  • A book based on a previously written script (this type of book is known as a "novelization").

No Festival Does a Better Job

My feature screenplay "Asylum", adapted from my novel, was an Official Selection in the 2021 Adapted Story Showcase. Ive seen no one do a better job posting winners and even Submissions Statistics on their website than festival sponsor Ink & Cinema. They even sent a personalized "Congratulations" notecardin real-life mail, a surprise Hollywood ending to a pleasant experience.
